EEG Scans for Architecture
Besides studying Architecture, I spend a lot of my time reading about psychology, neuroscience, behavioral dynamics and the effect space can have on our cognition, mood and ability to connect with people around us. As a result, my project this year focuses partially on measuring the effect different spaces can have on the way our brain functions by measuring and comparing different wavelengths that occur when being in certain types of spaces.
To do that I had to adapt a few things on the MindFlex headset in order to be able to use Processing to extract the information that is needed. The process was not too hard as we have been working with Arduino and Raspberry Pi kits since the beginning of the year. The results are quite interesting but they will be better interpreted as the project moves along in the following months as a driver for spatial exploration. Can't wait!
