This selection brings together projects developed through architectural practice, independent commissions, competitions and academic exploration, spanning residential, workplace, educational, civic and heritage contexts.

Across different scales and settings, my approach begins with the relationship between people, place and the patterns of life architecture accommodates. I am interested in how buildings can respond to behaviour, climate, landscape, social relationships and changing needs over time, allowing form to emerge from the conditions that shape how a place is inhabited rather than being imposed upon it. This approach is informed partly by an interest in vernacular architecture and the intelligence embedded within it: buildings shaped incrementally through use, necessity and adaptation; thresholds that negotiate privacy and connection; and spatial arrangements that reflect relationships between domestic life, work, community and landscape. Rather than reproducing vernacular forms, I am interested in understanding the behaviours and conditions that produced them and considering how those principles might inform contemporary design.

The projects shown here reflect different expressions of this thinking, from work developed collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to independent design and speculative exploration. Together, they represent an architecture concerned not only with what spaces look like, but with how they are lived in, experienced and changed by the people who inhabit them.
