I went to the Musée d’Orsay this summer primarily because I wanted to experience the building. As an architect, I had been interested in it for some time as an example of adaptive reuse: a former railway station transformed into a museum without losing the scale, spatial order or civic presence of the building it had once been.

I visited the Kolumba Museum in Cologne in April 2025. It was the first building by Peter Zumthor that I had experienced in person even though I had admired his work for many years, particularly since discovering phenomenology and experiential approaches as a second-year architecture student back in 2013.
